My staff wrote this for the 1st SCA Event 18 years ago !
Twas the weeks before Christmas and all through the field
don't worry about the ball, the beer we will our shield.
All the players were gathered by the Bailey's with care.
The smell of Irish Coffee fills up the cold air.
When out at the bar there arose such a clatter,
Mike Cray radioed staff to see what was the matter.
When what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But hundreds of BSSC players drinking Miller Lite beer.
With a little old bartender, let's call him Derrick,
Said, "Pour shots of Jameson and Get ‘em quick!"
More rapid than eagles the drinkers they came,
They sprinted and shoved and all called his name.
Cray sprang to his bar stool and to his team gave a whistle,
And a toast they all gave under the toe they call mistle,
"To Santa Claus Anonymous, we'll always remember,
Playing and drinking for you on this cold day in December."
Thanks for being a part of this event. Merry Christmas!
